Environmental Education
The philosophy of the Emmet County Conservation’s long-term Environmental Education Plan emphasizes the importance of environmental education in the lives of all Emmet County residents and visitors. An understanding of the natural resources, ecological systems, and conservation & preservation philosophies is implicit for the healthful sustainment of Emmet County citizenry, natural areas and wildlife. The Environmental Education program will foster environmentally mindful citizenry by providing them with opportunities to interact with nature through conservation, education, and recreation. The symbiotic exchange of knowledge between persons and the environment is a lifelong process that will be assisted by the programming efforts of the Emmet County Conservation staff.
